IDEAS BOOK - HOW TO MAKE DIY CHRISTMAS BIRCH TREE

Photo Krzyzanski
This is not a typical Christmas tree proposition, but those who like things to be a little bit extraordinary this birch tree might be a good alternative to tradition. The best thing about it is that you may keep it all year round as part of your home decoration and redecorate it every time you wish. This birch tree has a solid concrete base, so it can be easily moved from place to place.

IDEAS BOOK - HOW TO MAKE WOODEN TEALIGHT HOLDER

I went to the garage the other day to clean up the wood before winter. Last year we haven't had time to get it done, so this season I wanted to be prepared. Evenings are getting longer, so there is more time to have things sorted before it gets really cold. When cleaning I found this old piece of timber that meant to go to the rest of the wood, but I thought it would make a nice tealight holder instead. I had this flat wood bit bought some time earlier, so finally there was a chance to use it. I didn't even realize this project would be so easy to make. In other words if you got spare minute or two and a piece of unwanted wood you may have this lovely tealight holder ready in less than an hour.

SCANDINAVIAN HALLWAY INSPIRATION AND WHY DO I LOVE SHOPPING AT IKEA

Few days ago a subject of decorating our hallway returned. Hot spells are almost behind us, so my hubby and I started to think of what needs to be done before winter. Top point on our list was the hallway - small and narrow space with lots of potential. I had the general idea of how I want it to look, but I still missed some details. I started browsing the internet and I found few interesting inspirations.

CLEVER STORAGE SOLUTION - CONCRETE HOME OFFICE ACCESSORIES

Ever since I remember I always had my pens and pencils laying around somewhere in my drawers. Occasionally they ended up in some kind of a box, but most of the time they were just dumped in accidental places. I won't even mention that every time I needed a pen I simply couldn't find it. Obviously I knew it was somewhere here, but where...?

IDEAS BOOK - DIY PALLET DINING TABLE

The story behind this table is pretty much similar to most of the items I made, but I have special feelings for it as that was the very first piece of furniture that I've ever made. It's been made of this massive pallet dumped in the garden long time ago and nearly forgotten. When I first found it, I wanted to make a bed headboard of it, but we needed table at the time, so it turned to be a perfect feature to create one. Because it was made sometime ago I won't be able to show you the whole process of formation in pictures, but I'll try to guide you step by step, so if you like the idea please follow me...

IDEAS BOOK - ENVELOPE PILLOWCASE TUTORIAL

Our new house doesn't have a garden sorted yet, but I felt like I needed my own space around it. As always the decision was to do it all by myself. Having small money in my pocket I had to find a way to create bargain patio furnitures and decorate them somehow. On that occasion I went to the backyard and took the old pallets that laid in there for ages and I converted them into a small diy pallet sitting-dining set. All I missed was something to cover the bare wood planks, so I went to Ikea and did some shopping!

HOME PROJECT - CONCRETE BATHROOM

When I thought of master bathroom I always thought concrete. It's obvious by now this is one of my favorite materials, so with no doubts I wanted to use it in the bathroom. The aim was to keep it modern and simple with this raw kind of look, so I have decided to combine it with wood and glass for a bit of variety.

IDEA BOOK - DIY PIPE & CONCRETE INDUSTRIAL LAMP

When a friend of mine came to visit few weeks ago he asked me what it was. At that time the construction of the lamp was in the process of drying and it didn't really look like lamp, so I told him to wait and see. To be honest with you that could have been anything, but when I added lamp holder with a cord it started to look like it meant to be. First impression might have been confusing, but the second one didn't leave any doubts, it was a lamp!

HOME PROJECT: LED LIGHTS STAIRCASE WALL

Decorating newly build house is a challenge and I don't only mean it to your budget, but also to your imagination. Especially when you buy ready made house project like us and many things simply can not be changed. In our case that was the staircase which is very small and narrow. To make it even worse one of the walls has this roundish shape, so the aim was to make it visually bigger, brighter and more spacious where possible.

IDEAS BOOK - DIY CONCRETE TV WALL TUTORIAL

Has any of you ever thought of making your own concrete wall. Well here you go, I have done it myself. It's easy peasy if you know how to! When we started building our house I had general idea of how I want it to look like. Many of the ideas changed with the time, but from the very beginning I knew that I wanted to have a concrete TV wall in my living room. Originally I planned to buy some ready made concrete panels, but because they were pretty pricey I have decided to do it myself. To do that I had to buy some special concrete mixture for plastering. You can buy it already made and it's really easy to apply. All you need to do is to get the right equipment and be patient. Here is a little tutorial of how to make your own concrete wall.
